Garfield Weston Foundation is a private Canadian charitable foundation committed to making grants in Canada for the benefit of Canadians. The Foundation currently directs its funds primarily to two areas: EDUCATION Through a one-time grant of $15 million to the Ontario Science Centre, the Foundation has funded the Weston Family Innovation Centre, an area that will foster a greater understanding of science and technology among Canada's youth. In participation with the Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation, the Foundation provides the most generous scholarships in the country at the undergraduate university and college levels through the Canada-wide Garfield Weston Merit Scholarship. We also fund tuition-assistance grants to students wishing to attend independent elementary schools in Ontario, through Children First: School Choice Trust. ENVIRONMENT The Foundation focuses its environment-related grants on significant land conservation projects, in partnership with the The Nature Conservancy of Canada.
